Reset Canon MP640, MP648

Problem:

Waste ink tank full, waste ink pad full, the ink absorber is almost full, error 5B00, error p07, blink 7 times, blink 8 times, the ink absorber becomes almost full, error E08, error E07.

Printer:

Canon Pixma MP640, MP648

Reset Canon MP640, MP648:

Step 1: Enter Service Mode

1.   Turn off the printer.

2.   Press and hold the Stop/Reset button.

3.   Press and hold the ON button.

4.   Release the Stop/Reset button (the ON button is still pressed).

5.   Press and releasing the Stop/Reset button one time.

6.   Press and hold the Stop/Reset button.

7.   Release the ON and Stop/Reset buttons together.

After the both buttons are released, the power indicator will blink green for some time and then the green will light constantly.

If after follow points 1-7 the green light not constantly but the printer continues to show an error, it's mean you made a mistake in points 1-7. Turn off the printer and repeat step 1.

Step 2: Reset Canon MP640 series

To reset the Canon MP640, MP648 can be done with:

a.     Service Tool v.1050

b.     Service Tool v.2000

c.      Service Tool v.3400

d.     Service Tool v.3600

e.     Service Tool v.4905

a.     Reset with Service Tool v.1050

·         Download Service Tool (support Win XP, Vista, 7, 8, 8.1, 10)

·         Extract file and open Service Tool

·         Select USB Port (1)

·         Load paper

·         Clear Ink Counter, click MAIN (2)

·         Wait the printer finish printing D=000.0

·         Click OK

·         Close Service Tool

·         Turn off printer (wait 10 seconds)

·         Turn on printer

·         Printer ready for use

b.     Reset with Service Tool v.2000

·         Download Service Tool (support Win XP, Vista, 7, 8, 8.1, 10)

·         Extract file and open Service Tool

·         Load paper

·         Clear Ink Counter, click MAIN (1)

·         Wait the printer finish printing D=000.0

·         Click OK

·         Close Service Tool

·         Turn off printer (wait 10 seconds)

·         Turn on printer

·         Printer ready for use

c.      Reset with Service Tool v.3400

·         Download Service Tool (support Win XP, Vista, 7, 8, 8.1, 10)

·         Extract file and open Service Tool

·         Load paper

·         Clear Ink Counter, select MAIN (1)

·         Set (2)

·         Wait the printer finish printing D=000.0

·         Click OK

·         Close Service Tool

·         Turn off printer (wait 10 seconds)

·         Turn on printer

·         Printer ready for use

d.     Reset with Service Tool v.3600

·         Download Service Tool (support Win XP, Vista, 7, 8, 8.1, 10)

·         Extract file and open Service Tool

·         Load paper

·         Clear Ink Counter, select MAIN (1)

·         Set (2)

·         Wait the printer finish printing D=000.0

·         Click OK

·         Close Service Tool

·         Turn off printer (wait 10 seconds)

·         Turn on printer

·         Printer ready for use

e.     Reset with Service Tool v.4905

·         Download Service Tool (support Win XP, Vista, 7, 8, 8.1, 10)

·         Extract file and open Service Tool

·         Load paper

·         Clear Ink Counter, select MAIN (1)

·         Set (2)

·         Wait the printer finish printing D=000.0

·         Click OK

·         Close Service Tool

·         Turn off printer (wait 10 seconds)

·         Turn on printer

·         Printer ready for use
